Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 10: In a grand event organised by Ms. Pavithra Halkatti, The Managing Trustee of Dr. P.G. Halkatti Foundation at the historic Town Hall in Bengaluru, Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri Siddaramaiah presented the prestigious annual national awards of the trust to three distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions in their respective fields. Each awardee received a sum of one lakh rupees along with the prestigious trophy in recognition of their contributions in their respective fields.
Earlier, Ms. Pavitra Halkatti, Businesswoman, Lawyer, Social Entrepreneur & Philanthropist and also the great granddaughter of Vachana Pitamaha Dr. PG Halkatti, a towering literary figure and social reformer and the granddaughter of Shri M. Rajsekara Murthy, a senior politician in the Karnataka and central government and renowned social reformer extend a warm welcome to all the guests who attended and witnessed the momentous ceremony apart from delivering vote of thanks on behalf of the trust to the dignitaries who attended the event.
The evening event took place in the holy presence of Sri Sri Shivarudhra Mahaswamyji of Sri Beli Mutt, Bengaluru, to honour, recognise, and celebrate those who made significant contributions to society. Honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri Siddaramaiah, was the esteemed chief guest for the evening. The ceremony was presided over by Shri M.B. Patil, the Honourable Cabinet Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka. Also present were Honourable Cabinet Minister for Kannada & Culture Shri. Shivraj Tangadagi, Government of Karnataka, former minister Leela Devi Prasad, former minister Rani Satish, former MLC B Chidanand, Raghukula Das Ji of ISKCON, Actor Harshika Poonacha, and several IAS & IPS officers amongst others.
Smt. Sheela Hara Halkatti, the trustee of Dr. P.G. Halkatti Foundation extended the welcome speech and Nadoja Dr. Manu Baligar, the former President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat delivered the key-note address, enriching the evening with his profound insights.
The award recipients were:
- Prof. S.G. Siddaramaiah – For his outstanding contributions to the field of Vachana Literature.
- Dr. V.P. Niranjanaradhya – In recognition of his remarkable work in the education sector.
- Smt. S.G. Susheelamma – For her exemplary philanthropic endeavours.
